2022 ELECTION BULLETIN (list of candidates and details)

Local 500’s elections for the 2022-2023 year will be held on November 24 and 25, 2022.

Please read the attached bulletins for the list of candidates, as well as to obtain information on the advance poll, dates and times to vote, and the travelling ballot box schedule.

Candidates:  Should your name appear on the list different than what you would like on the official ballot, please advise the office staff ASAP.

Anyone with an active application to Local 514 must withdraw themselves from the ballot.  Again, call the office staff ASAP and they will contact the Elections Officer.

Make sure to review the information regarding postering.

LOCAL 500 VOTING.

Thursday & Friday – November 24 & 25, 2022

Local 500 Boardroom #1
6 AM – 6 PM		 Despatch Hall
6 AM – 6 PM

ADVANCE POLL.

Tuesday, November 15, 2022 – 8 AM – 5 PM

Local 500 Union Office

To be eligible to vote in the Advance Poll a Member must meet one of the following criteria which must occur during the week of the Elections:

  1. Book at least four (4) days of Vacation Time that includes the week of the Elections.
  2. Be scheduled for treatment in a Health Care Facility on Election Days.

iii.   Be out of town conducting Union Business.

 

 TRAVELLING BALLOT BOX.

Only people working on site on voting days will be able to use the Travelling Ballot Box.  The only exception is Squamish Terminals.  Due to its remote location, RWF and Complement employees not working on the election days will be allowed to cast their vote at the Terminal.

 

TRAVELLING BALLOT BOX SCHEDULE – TWO DAYS

(these times will vary slightly depending on road conditions and voter turnout)

 

Thursday, November 24, 2022 in the MAIN LUNCHROOM at the following times and sites:

  • Squamish Terminals              From 7:45 AM to 10 AM
  • Vancouver Wharves               From 12 PM to 1 PM
  • Fibreco                                        From 2 PM to 3 PM

 

Friday, November 25, 2022 in the MAIN LUNCHROOM at the following times and sites:

  • Lynn East Gate                          From 9 AM to 11 AM
  • Neptune Terminals                 From 11:30 AM to 12:45 PM
  • PCT Port Moody                       From 2 PM to 4:00 PM
