5 O’CLOCK SHADOW AND HEAVY STUBBLE ARE CONSIDERED “BEARDS” – UPDATED

  • Longshore workers must be clean shaven at time of despatch to be despatched to any “No Beards” jobs.
  • If you have medical issues, get a doctor’s note.
  • You will not be despatched to VanWharves #1 or any other “No Beards” job if you cannot get a proper respirator seal.
  • A 5 o’clock shadow and heavy stubble impede such a proper seal and are considered “beards”.
  • If you have a beard please swipe in at the appropriate.
  • It is a gimmick to abuse the system.
  • 24-hour suspension for first offense.
