NOTICE OF MOTION
to amend the
LOCAL 500 CONSTITUTION: ARTICLE VIII, Dues, Meetings & Quorums,
Section 1(d) Non-Attendance:(i) (a):
Any Member who fails to attend a duly called Membership Meeting of Local 500 I.L.W.U. shall be fined Five ($5.00) Dollars
Section 1(d) Non-Attendance: (ii):
Any Member who fails to vote in any duly called I.L.W.U. election shall be fined Five ($5.00) Dollars.
Amend (i) and (ii) to read:
(i) “Any Member who fails to attend a duly called Membership Meeting of Local 500 I.L.W.U. shall be fined an amount not to exceed one-half (1⁄2) an hour’s pay at the STBR and (ii) Any Member who fails to vote in any duly called I.L.W.U. election shall be fined an amount not to exceed one-half (1⁄2) an hour’s pay at the STBR.”
SECOND & FINAL READING AT THE May 14, 2014 MEMBERSHIP MEETING
The second (2nd) and final reading of this Notice of Motion will take place at the May 14, 2014 Membership Meeting at which time it will be debated and voted on if there is a quorum. Two-thirds (2/3) of the Members present at the meeting must vote in the affirmative to pass this motion.
