As the office staff is provincially regulated the Local 500 administration office is closed on BC Family Day.s.

Family Day is not a recognized statutory holiday in the BCMEA/ILWU Collective Agreement.  It is a regular working day for Longshore workers as longshore work is federally regulated (this stat only applies to workers who fall under provincial regulation, like our staff).
