Currently, Weekly Indemnity pays their benefits a week in advance.
Starting on November 8, 2024, the payments will be made a week after the benefit period, just like your paycheques. You get your pay the week after you’ve earned it. WI will be the same.
The bulletin below explains how the new process will work and how there will be a one week period where no benefit cheques will be issued. This doesn’t mean you won’t be paid for the period, it just means it will come later…. there is no loss to you.
