DO NOT CONTACT THE BCMEA FOR ANY TRAINING QUESTIONS.
Any questions regarding training can be answered by calling ILWU Local 500 Vice President / ITC Antonio Pantusa. As per the Collective Agreement, it is the ITC’s responsibility to communicate with the BCMEA about training applicants.
Do not access the BCMEA Web Portal for training eligibility, as ILWU Local 500 does not endorse workers logging into the BCMEA website. This message has been communicated at every Waterfront Basics and at previous Casual meetings.
BCMEA will call workers to schedule Labour Training (KM BFF, Container Vessel Safety Training, Break Bulk Training, and Vanterm Container Labourer). For these programs, you may call the BCMEA, if they leave a message about scheduling.
Contacting the BCMEA directly for any other training opportunities will be considered disregarding the authority of the Union and will be charged as Conduct Detrimental to the Union before the M&G.
