In Canada National Day of Mourning takes place on April 28, 2020. The National Day of Mourning is observed annually in Canada and sometimes called Workers Mourning Day. It commemorates workers who have been killed, injured or suffered illness due to workplace related hazards and incidents.

To nominate yourself, call into the Local 500 Office and give your name as you would like it to appear on the ballot to the Office Staff.
The following positions are open:
1 Vice President
1 Secretary Treasurer
2 Business Agents
1 Despatch Coordinator
2 Trustees
10 Executive Members
30 ILWU Canada Convention/Caucus Delegates
4 ILWU Canada Executive/Longshore Executive
3 International Convention Delegates; AND
1 Election Officer for 2021
You can run for an Officer’s position (VP, Sect-Treas, BA, Despatch Coordinator) or the Executive, but not both.
If you run as Trustee, you may not run for an Officers’ position or the Executive.
Everyone, whether you run for an Officers’ position or the Executive, may run for Convention/Caucus, ILWU Canada Exec, and/or the Int’l Convention.
