 gated by police and goons on behalf of the Shipping Federation and their a
 llies\, became part of our history.  That battle was lost but the war was 
 won.  The events of that day are a reminder of why militant solidarity sho
 uld always remain at the core of the Union.\nA permanent memorial stone no
  stands at New Brighton Park\, where Longshore pensioners and workers will
  gather to recognize the events that eventually led to the formation of IL
 WU Canada.  Join us to hear from speakers\, to learn about the history of 
 the Battle of Ballantyne\, and build solidarity as we remember why we belo
