 stigated by police and goons on behalf of the Shipping Federation and thei
 r allies\, became part of our history.  That battle was lost but the war w
 as won.  The events of that day are a reminder of why militant solidarity 
 should always remain at the core of the Union.</p>\n<p>A permanent memoria
 l stone no stands at New Brighton Park\, where Longshore pensioners and wo
 rkers will gather to recognize the events that eventually led to the forma
 tion of ILWU Canada.  Join us to hear from speakers\, to learn about the h
 istory of the Battle of Ballantyne\, and build solidarity as we remember w
