When you declare yourself for work, you’re giving our Despatch Coordinators and the Hall an idea of how many people will be available to fill the jobs, and what ratings you have.
When significant numbers of you don’t show up, it leaves us scrambling to fill jobs so that no gangs/jobs go down. Unfortunately, we can’t always fill everything at the last minute. This is very frustrating.
Do NOT make yourself available for a shift if you don’t think you’ll be plugging in.
If you made yourself available and can’t plug in due to illness, etc., you should phone the Coordinator line to undeclare – 604-216-0356.
Call and leave a message before despatch starts – the earlier the better, but certainly not at the last minute. Proof of when you called will be on your phone.
Declaring without plugging in, or undeclaring, even if you get a late job, may earn you a MANPI fine (made yourself available but did not plug in).
