It’s that time of year again…
The deadline for filing your income tax is April 30, 2026. Legally, all tax documentation has to be sent/available to you by February 28th.
UNION DUES RECEIPTS
Dues/despatch fees are tax deductible (make sure you claim them).
ALL RECEIPTS WILL BE IN THE MAIL BY THE END OF JANUARY 2026.
Who pays dues/despatch fees: Union, A, B, C, and T Board workers, as well as anyone who’s RWF (Regular Work Force).
IF YOU MOVED RECENTLY, DID YOU GIVE THE UNION OFFICE YOUR NEW ADDRESS? (changes must be reported to the Union office and to the BCMEA separately)
BCMEA T4
The BCMEA is your employer and ADP should have T4s ready by mid February 2026:
- If you access your pay statements on-line, that’s where you’ll find your T4.
- All remaining T4s are mailed.
- If your T4 gets mailed, make sure any address changes are given in to the Despatch Hall ASAP (let the Union office know too).
DO YOU WANT TO INCREASE THE AMOUNT OF INCOME TAX DEDUCTED OFF YOUR PAY?
Tired of owing Revenue Canada money after your taxes have been calculated? Why not increase the amount of tax taken off your pay each week.
The Administration Office at the Despatch Hall has a TD1 form you can fill out. Near the bottom of page 2, you can select how much more you want deducted off each pay ($10, $20, $55, $102… you decide). A refund is nicer than owing the tax man.
You can also fill in the attached file and email it to dispatchadmin@bcmea.com (or you can fill it in, print it, and drop it off at the Despatch Admin office).
