Notice of Motion – to amend the Local 500 Constitution: Article VI Charges, Trials, & Fines Section 1. Charges.

Move the current point (b) to a newly-created point (c).

Create a new point (b) that reads: “Conduct Unbecoming.  Any Member of the Local who knows of any actions of another Member or Casual considered disrespectful to the Union, its Officers or its Members, shall report such actions, in writing, to the Secretary Treasurer who shall notify the accused, in writing, that there is a charge pending against him/her.  The charge shall read ‘Conduct Unbecoming a Union Member.’  The accused shall be entitled to a copy of the charges and two (2) weeks in which to prepare his/her defence.”

SECOND & FINAL READING AT THE OCTOBER 17, 2018 MEMBERSHIP MEETING

The second (2nd) and final reading of this Notice of Motion will take place at the October 17, 2018 Membership Meeting, at which time it will be debated and voted on if there is a quorum.  Two-thirds (2/3) of the Members present at the meeting must vote in the affirmative to pass this motion.
