Vacation Pay will be available on or before Friday, February 8, 2013.
Effective 2009 the BCMEA is required to calculate and withhold the full income taxes due on lump sum payments at the time the payment is made.
If you want to reduce your tax deductions on your Vacation Pay you must submit the completed T-1213 form to the Canada Revenue Agency. The CRA will then send the BCMEA authorization to reduce the amount of tax withheld. This process takes 4-8 weeks.
The T-1213 form is available from the CRA website, or there are some copies available in the Local 500 office.
